
İsmail Kapan

Born in 1956 in Pütürge district of Malatya, İsmail Kapan completed his undergraduate studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Law; his master’s degree in Social Structure and Social Change at the Social Sciences Institute of the Faculty of Economics and his doctorate in International Relations at the same university.
İsmail Kapan began his professional career in 1978 as a columnist for Türkiye Newspaper. After completing his military service in 1983-1984, he worked as a lawyer and legal consultant for a while before returning to journalism in 1987. Continuing to serve as a board member and senior executive in İhlas Group companies, Kapan has two books titled “Strategic Waves of Water” and “Spring Pains in the Middle East”.
As a member of the Turkish Journalists Association and a member of the High Council of the Press Council for 16 years, Kapan continues to write columns for Türkiye Newspaper.
