3 Awards for IHA (Ihlas News Agency) from the Turkish Photojournalists Association

In the competition organized by the Turkish Photojournalists Association, where 3,484 photographs were evaluated, the jury deemed 31 photographs and 8 photo series that marked 2018 worthy of awards in 8 categories.

In the competition, which was held in the categories of press photograph of the year, politics, sports, environment and nature, news, photo reportage, beauties of Turkey, daily life, and portrait, İhlas News Agency was awarded 3 prizes in the Daily Life, News, and Environment and Nature Photography categories.

Daily Life Category Award
The first prize in the Daily Life category was awarded to the photograph taken by İhlas News Agency photojournalist Suat Metin at a wedding in Antalya of police officer Taha Yasin Gül and police officer Ceren Ekinci, who was accidentally shot in the face with a gun.

Environmental and Nature Photo of the Year
In the environmental and nature photo of the year category, first place was won by İhlas News Agency photojournalist İsmail Coşkun with his photograph of a dolphin swimming in front of a Turkish submarine.

Also, İsmail Coşkun’s photograph of the construction of Taksim Mosque as seen from the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center, which is under demolition, came third in the news category.
