Türkiye Newspaper Turns 50
The newspaper that brings peace, Türkiye, is experiencing the joy of leaving half a century behind. Our newspaper, which started its publication life in 1970, has passed 50 years. Türkiye newspaper, which the late Enver Ören started to publish under modest conditions, has become a mirror of the country from which it takes its name in half a century.
Türkiye Newspaper, one of the established institutions of the written press, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Türkiye Gazetesi, which began its publication life on April 22, 1970, under the name “Hakikat” (Truth) and continued under the name “Türkiye” (Turkey) in 1972, is celebrating its half-century anniversary.
The newspaper has prepared four supplements totaling 96 pages to mark its 50th year. These supplements reveal the newspaper’s and Turkey’s half-century journey, highlighting headlines that have left their mark on history.
The supplement includes an old article by the late Enver Ören, the founder of Türkiye Newspaper, conveying his understanding of journalism, and tells the story of how İhlas Holding grew from a tiny office in Cağaloğlu into a media giant.
Ahmet Mücahid Ören, the owner of the newspaper and Chairman of the Board of İhlas Holding, also shared his future projects.
Türkiye Newspaper, which has a hand-delivery network covering all 81 provinces and districts of Anatolia, is delivered by hand to 120,000 subscribers every morning from 6 printing centers. A commercial was also filmed as part of the 50th-year celebrations.
The film, produced by Fikirevim Agency and highly praised for its message, explores the theme “Türkiye is my love.” Furthermore, today’s newspaper, dated April 22, 2020, was delivered to readers as a special 120-page edition.
